I promised my paid subscribers a monthly “ask me anything,” and here it is. Anyone can comment here with their questions, and I will write the answers in a new post that will be made available only to paid subscribers.

It’s been a very interesting week in the news in Israel, but the baby waking me up in the middle of every night has caught up with me. I had a few false starts for newsletters that I was too tired to complete. I promise to publish something soon!
In the meantime, here are some recommendations of things I liked this month:
Jerusalem: The Biography by Simon Sebag Montefiore
Jabotinsky: A Life by Hillel Halkin (I almost hate to recommend this, because he wrote an article about the new government in Israel that arguably borders on antisemitic. But it’s a good book.)
Jack Ryan on Amazon Prime
Bad Sisters on Apple TV+
Everything Everywhere All At Once - I thought this movie was incredible, and it’s great to see something fun and unpretentious leading the Oscar nominations for a change.
Depths of Wikipedia on twitter and Instagram
“The Sound: Myster of Havana Syndrome” podcast - There’s only one episode so far, and I look forward to hearing more!
Not sure if this is within your field!
Some writers are trying to imply that the new proposed reforms in the judiciary will change our democracy to something like now in Hungary . Have you any comment on that please? I am not sure about facts on Hungary . Thanks, Geoff
